We’re Having A Baby /

Gee Robinson – I Like The Sound Of That

I  know it has been a very long time since my last blog post, and I have taken a little hiatus from social media. Well, it is well deserved with the news I am about to share…

Natalie and I will be welcoming twins in the fall, and we are excited to share the news with you all!

We started the process a few months ago and I feel so beyond blessed. Natalie is the partner I have been waiting for, and I cannot wait for this new journey to begin together as a family of 7. (Yes, 2 moms, 2 kids, 3 dogs…)

Our families, friends, and community support is something we hold so dear, and being two women so connected in our communities, the outpour of happiness and love we have received the last month since starting to tell people has been nothing short of truly amazing.

As you all know, Fitness is my passion, and the moment I found out I was pregnant, I began to think about Health and Wellness in a whole new, and exciting way.

Fitness & Pregnancy – This week I will start posting more pictures and videos of  working out pregnant. I have found that yoga has been amazing during the first 4 months,  and of course I am still doing Barrys Bootcamp.  I will ask if you see me in class please don’t judge 😉 I am walking inclines and modifying the floor work to what feels right for me, which is what everyone should always do –listen to their body.

The first three months I was tired and had a night sickness headache but thankfully for me the first three months I overall felt fine and woke up every morning ready to teach my fitness classes. My eating the first few months was a little out of character, I reintroduced meat to my diet because apparently my body needs it, and my body right now is all for the babies. I also ate a lot more carbs until about a week ago when I found myself  feeling heavy and too tired.  I am now eating a lot of kale, spinach, vegetable soups, lentils, and the occasional meat dish. I have also cut back on fish and no tuna or fish with high mercury because well that’s what everyone says – even though according to my mom “women have been having children since the beginning of time and I ate whatever I wanted with you, and look how amazing you are” her words exactly. As anyone can tell you once you tell people you are pregnant the advice comes pouring out from everyone – I have to say we have appreciated it all! You always have to pick and choose what is right for your family but hearing everyones advice has been helpful.

I am excited to take you all along this journey with Natalie and I as we become mothers.

I am also especially excited as a fitness expert to take you along this journey as my body grows, carriers, and nurtures two babies (at once have I mentioned its twins), and then as I work hard to bounce back.

Thank you all for always being so supportive, let us all bring up the next generation to be compassionate, loving, peaceful, honest, and with integrity – who always stand up for whats right!

  1. Hi Rachel! I’ve loved you since your real world / challenge days!

I’m also a mom of twin boys, born in February 2017. I can’t wait to see how motherhood embraces you and your partner. It’s (obviously) life changing, scary, exciting, and so many other adjectives that are to pinpoint 🙂

As a fellow mother of 5 month old twins, I feel as though there is a “club” we belong to. Keep up the good work, mama(s)!

    You’re amazing.
